Nairobi, Kenya: Cord temporarily suspends anti-IEBC protests to give room for dialogue, says demonstrations would resume on June 6 if negotiations fail.

The coalition said the decision to put on hold next Monday's protests was to give room for dialogue in resolving the standoff over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Senators Johnson Muthama (Machakos) and James Orengo (Siaya) told a press conference at Capitol Hill in Nairobi that the decision was part of the coalition's commitment to dialogue in seeking solution to the electoral impasse that threatens to plunge the country into another round of political violence.
