Public universities cannot quench thirst of education in kenya

Educational institutions in private sector have over the years proven weakness to empower the world with mind power as the gap is evident.

Instead of the colleges focusing on giving quality education, they instead are commercial oriented, having high population intakes but no training facilities.

They offer low salaries to tutors thus hiring semi-qualified personnel to drive the vessel. Similarly punitive measures are imposed on students and tutors as no students’ organisations are allowed and tutors fired without notices.

Moreover, they are the most corrupt entities in the private sector as they are after money. This is in public domain, from acquiring of operation permits on a bribe to giving certificates of doom.

The parents and students are fighting a losing battle bearing in mind that the administrators of the institutions are the owners. Unless the government of the day goes back to the drawing board and comes up with a way to stamp out this selfish vice, Africa will lean behind forever.
