Jubilee Party national steering committee has welcomed the passage of the the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill.

Dr Noah Wekesa, the committee's co-chair noted the passage of the Bill now paves way for the dissolution of parties that form the Jubilee coalition, paving way for their merger.

Addressing the media at JAP headquarters in Nairobi, Wekesa was optimistic that his committee can now expedite the merger.

"We have been waiting for this and we are very happy. We didn't want to rush and then be faced with legal hurdles involving President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto," he said.
