Anxiety has gripped Karagita estate in Naivasha after two people were admitted following a fresh cholera outbreak.

This comes barely a day after the county declared it had contained the recent outbreak in nearby Kihoto estate. A public health officer, who declined to be named, said the two were admitted after suffering stomach upsets and diarrhea.

The officer expressed fears that the current rains could affect the ongoing mitigation efforts to contain the disease. Residents are now living in fear of more people being affected due to the high population and poor sanitation.

Efforts to get comment from Nakuru County Chief Executive Officer in-charge of Health Mungai Kabii were fruitless as calls to his phone went unanswered.
