The UK lauds President Uhuru Kenyatta's move on graft

The British government has expressed optimism in Kenya’s future following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directives on corruption.

British High Commissioner Christian Turner said the bold move by President Kenyatta was exactly what the country needed to make the next strides in development.

Dr Turner said the immense public pressure on corruption is an indication that Kenyans are hungry for development.

“Pressure is undoubtedly very high for the Government to perform. This calls for not only an in-depth focus on the needs of the people, but also patience, as it will not happen instantly,” he said.
