5 ways to reuse your wine bottles

Your Home

There are few things in this world that are utterly beautiful to look at, a wine bottle is one and so is a cologne bottle but let’s talk about wine bottles first. Wine bottles are not just reservoirs for the merry making liquid; they are delicate, beautiful and very versatile long after the wine is all gone.

You can up-cycle a wine bottle to make beautiful home decor vases, picture holders, lamps, chandeliers, centerpieces and many more.

For the pantry

Wash the bottles to get the labels off. Let them breathe and dry for a few days to get them smelling fresh. Store your grains and pulses in the bottles, you can go ahead and label them as well.

Arrange them neatly in your pantry or kitchen shelves for that wow effect.

Tealight shade

If you are looking for more adventure with your bottles, or bottle necks cut them up into different sizes. How? Find a hardware shop that cuts glass, and have them cut the wine bottle just after the neck.

Wet some sandpaper and smooth the edges. Wipe off the dust and use the funnel shaped new piece to shade your tea lights or scented candles.

Centerpiece

Wash and peel off bottle labels, dry them and spray them any colour of your choice to go with the theme you are working with. These can be set on a charger plate (always arrange like objects in threes to create that professional designer-did-it appeal).

These sprayed bottles can be used on dining tables, on console tables, on wall mounted ledges, the list is endless!

Picture perfect

This works best with clear bottles and not their tinted sisters. Roll a picture, slip it into a wine bottle, it will unfold once inside.

Easy unique photo display that you did yourself! If they are black and white prints you can call them vintage.

Paint them inside out

This is a real and easy technique. Mix some oil based paint, pour it in the bottle from the side, swirl the bottle around so the paint coats the insides.

You can cover it all up or swirl in a pattern. Let it dry and you have your beautiful colored wine bottle vase that will never fade.
