Mututho roots for friendly drug to aid in alcohol withdrawal symptoms

The National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) has proposed importation of a friendly drug to help prevent those battling with withdrawal symptoms from slipping back into alcoholism.

Nacada Chairman John Mututho said he was negotiating with the Treasury to allocate his organisation money to facilitate importation of the medication. Speaking at Murang'a's General Ihura Stadium, Mr Mututho, who was accompanied by deputy Governor Gakure Monyo, said Nacada and Treasury officials will today have a meeting on the same.

"Once we have the drug in the country, the war against alcoholism will be won as hundreds of the youth will not return to alcoholism," he said.
