Co-op Bank starts issuing insurance certificates at branches

Co-operative Bank has started printing motor vehicle insurance certificates at branches to save customers' time. The bank through its subsidiary, Co-op Consultancy Agency said it will offer the service at all its branches. The product was launched in 2013. "You can now get your motor vehicle insurance certificate within 10 minutes at all Co-op Bank branches," noted the bank in a statement. "Co-operative Bank has put in place an IT system that has enabled insurance certificates to be printed directly at all her branches. Certificates will be authorised at the head office and the branch officer will be required to print them from his or her desk."

The bank said the printing of certificates at branches will reduce the turnaround time to a maximum of 10 minutes as opposed to the common practice of printing them at the head office, before dispatching them to branches - a process that takes about two days. "We have a wide choice of insurance providers, so the customer is not locked to one insurance company," noted the bank. It however said there will no charges for the service of printing of insurance certificates, save for the insurance premium.
