Kenya: The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has suspended licences for 385 alcoholic brands in the country in the ongoing clampdown on illegal brew.

The countrywide operation to tame consumption of second generation brew was ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta following rising cases of alcoholism and related deaths.

KEBS Managing Director Charles Ongwae said production of the listed drinks would remain suspended until they are inspected and considered good for consumption.

Here is a list of the 385 alcoholic drinks termed as second generation by the inter government agencies team.

KEBs clarified that Kenya Breweries Ltd (KBL) brands under the UDV are not part of the brands whose licences have been suspended.
