'Terrorist suspect' at Maasai Mara University set free

A Narok court has set free a man who was nabbed in Maasai Mara University at night, causing a scare at the facility.

The Court rejected trespass charges against Samuel Owino Ibrahim after he was found in the university's hostels at 9pm, causing tension among the students.

Narok Resident Magistrate Allan Sitati said the university was a public place and, therefore, trespass charges against the accused could not stand. Ibrahim was found by the students near the campus hostels on April 18 and was mistaken for a terrorist.
