Kenya: Sony has unveiled a new range of cameras, dubbed Alpha, which include the Alpha A6000 that is reputed to be among the quickest, interchangeable-lens digital cameras globally.

The company has also introduced discounted prices for buyers, with the unveiling of the series in Nairobi expected to mark a turning point for photography in Kenya and the region.

“The company has been at the forefront of innovation. The premium features of the new Alpha series packed into the camera’s compact body exemplify this fact,” said Gwynne Gallardo, during the launch.

Some of these features include the camera’s ability to snap subjects into sharp focus in milli-seconds and its striking colour reproduction.

“There’s little doubt that the Alpha A6000 and A7 series cameras are groundbreaking models. Sony designed them to look the part of a modern trendsetter,” Ms Gallardo added.

The launch at the Nairobi National Park was designed to give Kenya’s top photographers, videographers and officials of the Photographers Association of Kenya maximum exposure to the Alpha Series.
