Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission appoints Marjan Hussein as deputy CEO

Kenya: The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has appointed Marjan Hussein as Deputy Commission Secretary/CEO in charge of support services; James Muhati Buyekane as Director Information and Communication Technology; and Osman Hussein Ibrahim as Finance Director.

The three emerged as the most successful candidates in interviews that were first conducted by PwC and later by the IEBC.

Marjan Hussein is currently the Head of Internal Audit, Investigation and Quality at Telkom Kenya Ltd.

 In the last 20 years, he has grown through the ranks in Telekom Kenya assuming different roles at management level even as the company underwent transformation. He has vast knowledge and experience in leadership, finance and audit functions, information security systems audit and strategic management.

Marjan has Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Management and Bachelors of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Nairobi. Also, he has various certification and membership including CISA, CIA and CPA-K.

James Muhati Buyekane is the Head of Information Systems at Kenya Airways and has wide experience working with multinational companies including Caltex Oil Kenya Ltd, Chevron and CIC Insurance.

He is a well-rounded ICT professional with over 20 years experience across multi-ICT domains including application development, infrastructure support, strategy and planning and project implementation.

 He has Master of Science in Information Systems as well as a postgraduate in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi and Bachelors of Science in Statistics and Computer Science from Kenyatta University.

Osman Hassan Ibrahim is the Finance and Administration Director (Deputy CEO) at the Kenya School Government. He has over 19 years of experience in finance and administration.

During this period, Osman has been involved in computerization of finance processes, ISO certification programmes and development of financial management policies.

Osman has Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi. He is also a certified member of ICPAK.
