President Uhuru Kenyatta to meet aviation officials, governors

President Uhuru Kenyatta has scheduled an aviation meeting with industry players including governors Monday to iron out challenges affecting the sector at the national and counties' level.

President Kenyatta will Monday be joined by governors at a function to be held at The Pride Centre, a Kenya Airways (KQ) training centre.

The county bosses who talked to The Standard confirmed they will be present on the official invitation of Uhuru.

Governors Paul Chepkwony (Kericho), Ken Lusaka (Bungoma) and Ahmed Mohammed (Wajir) said they had received the invitation through the Council of Governors."I will be attending. I received this presidential invitation circulated through the council," said Prof Chepkwony, who spoke on phone.

The forum will provide an opportunity for the national and county governments to ventilate on how to improve the economy by making every county accessible.

Governors Mohammed and Lusaka also confirmed attendance. By Sunday, majority of the county chief executive officers had confirmed their attendance.
