Germany gets a consolation after win over Slovenia

Germany struggled to defeat Slovenia 30-27 in the ongoing 24th men's Handball World Championship at Lusail Multipurpose Hall on Saturday evening.
The win earned Germany the last ticket on the way to 2016 Rio Olympic Games qualification next year.
It was an important match for the Germany's after losing only two matches in the whole championship.
Germany will join the other five teams who have also booked the Olympic qualification with the winner of the championship (France vs Qatar) earning a direct ticket.
It was a tight match with the teams settling for a three-all draw after eight minutes into the match.
After 13 minutes of play, Slovenia broke the deadlock to record three goal lead (7-3) but their opponents reorganized to make two more scores to narrow down the lead a minute later with a 7-7 score.
Uwe Gensheimer proved to be the best finding the back of the net six times before the break to enable his team take a 16-14 lead.
After the breather, both teams came in strongly but Germany yet again proved to be the better side snatching the win.
Slovenian, Dragan Gajic who has been on top of the scoring chats extended his lead to 71 goals ahead of Qatar's Zarko Markovic, 60, who is tipped to emerge the top scorer of the championship with a final to spare.
In another encounter, Denmark labored to defeat Croatia 28-24 in the placement matches for the fourth and Fifth positions respectively.
Danish Mikkel Hansen was named the adidas man of the match for the second time in the whole competition for his match winning performance emerging the top scorer on eight goals.
Mikkel, currently playing for PSG handball, added his tally to 39 goals to be in the top 15 top scorers in the championship.
Croatian Ivan Cupic, who plays for Polish sise Vive Targi Kiecle club scored only three yesterday to add his tally to 41 to emerge Croatian top scorer.
At the same time, Poland will play against defending champions Spain in the third position play off.
