Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetang'ula urges political tolerance

Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetang'ula is optimistic that this year there will be less political intolerance, peace and the expected referendum.

The Bungoma Senator challenged the security organs to embrace patriotism and ensure Kenyans have a secure nation, for themselves, visitors and their properties.

"We want peace in our motherland. With the changes made in security, we are looking forward to a more responsive and hardworking security agency. Our problem is not the security laws, but we lack the will to executive the constitutional obligation," said Wetang'ula.

He also prevailed upon the Jubilee administration to be more sensitive to the plight of Kenyans and visitors.

"We expect the Jubilee administration to be less intolerant and less dictatorial," said the senator.

On the economy, Wetang'ula said: "Tea, maize and the sugar sectors went through a very difficult period in 2014. We therefore look forward to an improved economy and a peaceful country devoid of clashes."

"Our challenges should end with 2014."
