UK company launches security and data storage solutions in Kenya, targets SMEs

NAIROBI, KENYA: Emerdis, a UK technology distribution company, has announced plans to venture into the Kenyan market by introducing IT Security, Connectivity and Data Storage solutions.

The company will be targeting the rapidly increasing number of "small- and medium-sized" enterprises that are looking for Security, Connectivity and Data Storage solutions that provide appropriate performance, capacity and scalability, future-proofing their businesses within the budget constraints that many organisations face.

Emerdis Director Mark Neville said as small and medium-sized businesses in Kenya, like the rest of Africa, continue to grow, they are creating demand for enterprise-level capacity and performance in their IT Infrastructure but find the cost of traditional enterprise providers prohibitive and impractical for their IT budgets.

He noted that Emerdis would deliver a range of solutions that meet the overall performance needs and financial constraints of a wider range of businesses and industries.

"Kenya is the IT Hub of East Africa and the fastest growing in terms of technology adoption. The continued infrastructure investment and expansion to meet the forecasted economic growth makes Kenya the right place to launch Emerdis in Africa," said Mr Neville.

The firm, he added, has selected Kenya as its point of entry into the East Africa region due to its regional hub status, which makes it possible to reach out to other East African countries. Emerdis expects to recruit commercial and technical consultancy staff next year to support its business activities and partners within the East Africa region and also build a select partner channel in Kenya.
