Ruto: President and I take full responsibility over transfer of Rugut

Kenya: The Deputy President William Ruto Saturday weighed in the issue of the transfer of Kiplimo Rugut as  Director of the National Youth Service (NYS) saying him and the President will take full responsibility for the move.

He explained that transfers of such high ranking officials in the civil service was sanctioned by the President, himself and the Public Service Commission  adding  that no one else should be blamed for such transfers.

“We take full responsibility for the transfer of Mr Rugut from the National Youth Service and anyone with issues should raise it with us instead of attempting to hound small people from their offices”, Ruto said.

Ruto said the heat generated by the transfer of Rugut  from NYS is unnecessary so is  the bashing directed at the Cabinet Secretary for devolution Ann Waiguru for allegedly orchestrating  the transfer.

“In any case, public servants are appointed to serve Kenyans not their tribes”, Ruto added.

The DP further said the government will serve all Kenyans equally irrespective of tribe, religion or political beliefs adding that those who voted for jubilee and those who voted for other parties are all Kenyans and deserve equal treatment.

“We as jubilee will not discriminate against anyone on account of their tribe or political persuasion and will take services to all corners of the country because we were elected to serve all Kenyans and not a section of the country,” he added.

The Deputy President called for an end to political bickering among leaders saying incessant  infighting was counterproductive.
