Fred Gumo: Probe Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi on Muchai's killers claim

Former Westlands MP Fred Gumo has asked the police to investigate Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi over his claims that he knows those behind the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai.

Gumo rubbished claims by Kambi linking Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli to Muchai’s shooting and challenged the police to arrest and probe the CS.

Muchai, his two bodyguards and a driver were shot dead on the morning of February 7 in Nairobi’s city centre.

The former Regional Development Minister accused Kambi of plotting to implicate Atwoli in the killing in bid to settle scores with the Cotu chief. “What Kambi is telling the world is pure lies and he should be arrested and investigated over his claims that he knows Muchai killers,” Gumo charged at Wekhonye Village during the burial of Sebastian Namwambu.

He accused Kambi of trying to sabotage police investigations and demonstrating impunity, and warned that the Luhya community would not tolerate such malice against one of their own.
