Nairobi, Kenya: Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (MOICT) and Kenya Prisons have been crowned women and men's national Netball Federation Super League champions.

The clubs emerged this year's winners as the league played its finals at Our Lady of Mercy Girls Secondary School over the weekend.

MOICT, who are also the 2014 Africa Club championships runners up, got 30 points to seal top position and secure the league for the third consecutive year.

Western Stima came in second with 22 points, same as Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), who had an inferior goal difference. On their part, reigning national and regional champions, Kenya Prisons, garnered 20 points to retain the title, while Ganec finished second with 16 points. Mount Kenya University (MKU) were third with 12 points.

MOICT's team manager Ann Bett said although the team failed to honour the second World Cup championship, which took place in Florida, US weeks ago, the team has shown much growth and will continue to build on their progress.

"The USA Embassy called us for interviews on the day the championship was starting, but it was difficult for the team to travel. The season has been good and we will now prepare for the regional and continental championships next season," said Bett.

In the women's Division One category, MKU topped table standings with 20 points, while Nairobi Members of County Assembly (MCAs) were second with 18 points. Migori MCAs had 14 points for a third-place finish.

At the same time, MOICT emerged winners in the Jamhuri Cup tournament with eight points ahead of Western Stima, whose six points secured them the second spot. Prisons, in the third place, had four points.

In women's Division One, Nairobi City Council Authority (NCCA)'s better goal difference came in handy as they edged Sofia Dwellers from Homa Bay County to second spot after both sides tied on 10 points. MCAs of Migori were third.
