Pupils risk missing KCPE listing

Kenya: Hundreds of Standard Eight Kenya Certificate of Primary Education candidates in Bomet County risk being locked out in the ongoing registration for the national examinations.

Teachers in the region say they are experiencing problems in accessing the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) website.

The teachers said they have problems uploading details of their candidates online. “We have been in and out of various cyber cafes and accessing the KNEC site has not been fruitful,” said Mrs Mutai  a primary school head teacher from Bomet Central.

Deadline extended

They now want the deadline for registration, slated for today extended just like the one for KCSE registration to enable them register their candidates for the exams. Kenya National Union of Teachers shares their sentiments and warned that should KNEC go ahead to close the registration, many pupils might miss out.

Meanwhile, registration for Kenya Certifiocate of Secondary Education candidates was extended by a week till Monday April 7.
