Kenya: Internal and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku has promised a security system responsive to crime.

Mr Lenku said he intends to create an administration at the security docket that will be a model in Africa.

Contrary to criticisms that his appointment has attracted in some quarters, Lenku said he has a vision for the country’s security.

“Kenya has been cited as the gateway to Africa and recognised in many fields. We can also do the same in the security docket and create a model security system enviable to many countries,” he said on Monday evening.

Yesterday at a press conference, the Secretary assured Kenyans of their security.

“There is no cause for alarm. In due course, I will issue a statement on the state of security in the country,” he said.

There has been public outcry on the increasing cases of criminal acts.

He said differences between National Police Service Commission and Inspector General of Police have been resolved.

“Stakeholders from the Commission on Implementation of Constitution, law reforms among others have played a role in ensuring harmony between the teams,” he disclosed.

He said the matter has been resolved amicably and the leaders will work together. Lenku was addressing the media at his office after meeting leaders from Samburu and Turkana over insecurity.
