10 suspects escape from Kamukunji police station

NAIROBI, KENYA: Police are still looking for 10 suspected criminals who escaped from Kamkunji police station in a daring break on Sunday night.

The suspects who range from murderers, robbers and muggers managed to escape after digging a hole on a wall of the police cell.

Police on duty realised the suspects had escapes Monday morning.

Other suspects at the usually populated cells told police they were sleeping when the incident happened.

Nairobi Area head of police Benson Kibui said they have details of those who escaped and efforts were being made to re-arrest them.

Kamukunji holds hardcore suspected criminals who range from muggers and robbers.

Officers who were on duty were grilled by their seniors on Monday as part of investigations into the incident.
