'I just crash landed at SFO': Samsung executive tweets dramatic escape from burning Boeing 777

A Samsung executive on board the Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 flight from Seoul that crash landed in San Francisco has sent a dramatic tweet after escaping the burning plane.

David Eun also posted a picture of fellow passengers and crew using the emergency inflatable chutes to jump out of the aircraft at San Francisco International airport.

Smoke can be seen billowing out of the right hand side of the plane, which was also missing its tail.
In a tweet sent at 12.13pm (PDT) Mr Eun said: 'I just crash landed at SFO. Tail ripped off. Most everyone seems fine. I'm ok ... surreal.'

Mr Eun, executive vice-president of Samsung Electronic's global media services, added that emergency services were helping the injured off the plane, and added: 'I haven't felt this way since 9/11.'

However, Mr Eun said on Twitter that most people appeared to have escaped without serious injury.

The Harvard graduate and father added that most people appeared calm in the aftermath of the crash.

Asiana is a South Korean airline, second in size to national carrier Korean Air. It has recently tried to expand its presence in the United States, and joined the oneWorld alliance, anchored by American Airlines and British Airways.
