Families devastated by deaths of two teachers in Lugari

By John Shilitsa | August 22nd 2020 at 00:00:00 GMT +0300

Two teachers have died in controversial circumstances in Lugari Sub-county.

In the first incident, the decomposing body of Evans Mwinamo, a teacher at Jirongo DEB Primary School was discovered inside his house days after he went missing.

His kin thought he was at his lover's place since his disappearance a fortnight ago, only to discover his body in his house.

The other teacher, John Mukhwana, 47, is believed to have tossed himself in river Kipkaren after drinking alcohol.

Josephine Kanini, the high school teacher's wife, said her husband left home around 5pm on Tuesday without disclosing where he was going.

He was later spotted by teenagers throwing himself into the river.

Maria Kuvuywa, Mukhwana's mother, said her son was sickly and could have been suffering from a mental illness.
