Bungoma County Government is giving out compensation to families of fallen Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers.

Speaking yesterday at Malakisi village in Sirisia Constituency during a funds drive in aid of the burial of fallen KDF soldier Paul Wamukota who died in Somalia and will be buried today, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka said Sh100,000 will be given to each family. "We know it is a tough time for families of the fallen heroes and that is why we have chosen to stand with them by contributing Sh100,000 each to help in burial expenses; these great men were fighting for our safety, let us accord them a decent burial," he said.
