Ecobank directors lose petition

Two directors of Ecobank have lost a court petition in which they were trying to stop the police from arresting them over allegations of fraud. A court injunction stopping their arrest has been dismissed and the two are being pursued by security agents for allegedly forging documents to sell property illegally. It is claimed the two fraudulently sold a hotel belonging to the late Abubakar Mohammed Madhubuti, a former Lamu mp, by falsifying his signature. Ecobank management has denied the two are being sought, saying there was no warrant of arrest against them.
