Drought follow-up

The government has allocated 2 billion shillings to feed students in areas hard-hit by drought. President Mwai Kibaki said the school feeding program will continue during the holiday period in the affected areas. Speaking at state house Nairobi, the president said the government has also stepped up transportation of relief supplies through the use of military and national youth service trucks. In the meantime, the first batch of food supply has reached most parts of the country, worst hit by the drought.
