Central Kenya MPs

Politicians from the Mount Kenya region loyal to deputy prime minister Uhuru Kenyatta are torn over the political vehicle he should use for his presidential campaign in next year's general election. At a meeting in Nairobi today, at least 26 mps from the region discussed whether to back his bid under one political party or work together in a coalition. However, with many mps from the region, including Uhuru, absent from the meeting, a decision was put off until another meeting in two weeks time when they will announce a new political vehicle.
