Saitoti on Mombasa republicans

The internal security minister has warned residents of the coastal strip against joining the outlawed Mombasa republican council, saying the group posed a threat to national security.
Prof George Saitoti says the government will not tolerate the activities of the group, which claims to fight for the rights of people from the coast. Speaking while commissioning new patrol boats at the port of Mombasa, Saitoti said calls for secession by the outlawed group were uncalled for. The minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to secure the country’s borders.
