Twitter erupts after ODM senators replace Wetang'ula with Orengo

Kenyans on Tuesday, March 20 received news about the removal of Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula as the Senate Minority Leader. Mr. Wetangula’s position is to be taken over by Siaya Senator James Orengo.

In a meeting conducted by Ford Kenya at the party's headquarters to determine Wetangula’s fate, nineteen Senators unanimously voted to oust him out.

Last week on March 15, Mr. Wetang’ula survived being kicked out by a whisker, after Speaker Kenneth Lusaka temporarily suspended the motion, ruling that he needed official communication from the NASA coalition’s chief executive officer.

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga then assured Wetang’ula and the rest of the co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi that he was not a party to the plot to remove him as Minority leader.

Following his removal, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala is set to deputize Orengo.

The move to replace him has left Kenyans on social media speaking out their minds. Here are some of their sentiments;

What we have done to Moses Wetangula was still the best choice for NASA. My luhya people abandoned Baba at the hour of need. Let him have a dose of his medicine.— NORMAN AMUGIRA MAGAYA (@NormanMagaya) March 20, 2018

NASA senators vote massively to replace Moses Wetangula as the senate minority leader,
you betrayed us on 30th now reap what you sow.
that's when you will know Odinga is not in your same league.

You can not be the loudest in the house, complaining how the food isn't good yet your contribution towards ensuring the stomach is full at all time is close to nothing. Moses Wetangula should have humbled himself, he brought nothing of substance to the big boys' table

As a loyal NASARITE and one from the Mulembe nation.. I stand with Moses Wetangula as I don't rejoice when Nasa disintergrates while Jubilee strengthens. For Weta, ... the bright side is you still get to serve the people of Bungoma as Senator. Viva!— Iveta Lemo (@IvetaLemo) March 20, 2018

So Moses Wetangula is finally ousted from Senate minority leadership! How do you call yourself a principal if you can't even win such a small battle?! All the same, the handshake must have a hand in this too!— Ochieng J. Pudo (@joseph_pudo) March 20, 2018

NASA Senators have unanimously voted in favour of the removal of Moses Wetangula as the Senate Minority leader.

Go back to your Luhya people, organize them, then come back as a strong tribal leader ndio UHESHIMIKE kama akina Raila na Ruto na Uhuru.— Malonze Ambani (@MalonzeAmbani) March 20, 2018

Now Moses Wetangula should tell us how he knew NASA was going to be rigged out of last year's elections that he settled for the Senate seat.— Duncan Makori ???????? (@EngnrDan) March 20, 2018

Moses Wetangula was a driver of ODM state of the art V8. The keys have been withdrawn and given to Orengo the owner. Lets wait for the messy threats.#WetangulaOut— Amedo Shair (@AmedoShair) March 20, 2018

NASA Senators have voted overwhelmingly to remove Hon. Moses Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader.

Its only fair for us to support ODM in its pursuit to reclaim a seat from a cheating partner.— Kipkalya Kones (@CollinceBey) March 20, 2018
