Nemanja Matic may move to Man United – But under one condition

Following the purchase of Tiemoué Bakayoko from French Champions AS Monaco, Chelsea’s experienced Serbian defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic may be forced to leave the club.

Matic who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United may see the rumours materialise after according to reports, being allowed to leave the club – if the buyer meets the 50 million pound selling price.

Matic who is known to have close ties with Man United Coach Jose Mourinho is said to be agitating for a move, with the Red Devils in need of a defensive midfielder.

With only days left before the close of the transfer window and the start of a new football season, Jose Mourinho has admitted that it has become very difficult to sign good players from top clubs, blasting clubs for placing unreasonable prices on players.

According to the ‘Special One’, he might be forced to downsize the number of players he wants to sign – sighting a ‘difficult’ transfer market as a reason for not signing all the players he wanted.

Matic would be a good addition to Man United – This is according to Manchester United legend and now pundit Gary Neville, who says Matic’s playing style would easily gel with Jose Mourinho’s formations. He also said that United captain Michael Carrick would not be able to play all matches in the coming season, hence the need for a player like Matic.

Manchester United have for long been pursuing Matic, after acquiring the services of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.

Ivan Perisic was also another player heavily linked with a move Man United, but it seemed like the asking price from Inter Milan was way too high for Mourinho’s liking.
