School choildren involved dangerous protests

In the recent past children have endangered their lives as they go to the streets in protests over their rights.

Teachers and parents led Pupils of Kenyatta Golf Course Academy on Monday May 15, to block Mbagathi Road with their desks.

The ministry and Education CS Fred Matiangi should quickly intervene on this matter so that children are not taken what they should not be part of.

Kenyatta Golf Course Academy pupils block road in protests

This is after their school was demolished over the weekend over a land dispute leaving them without classrooms as they spent a better part of the day on the road.

Such front-line involvement places the kids direct to injury and harm while their pare3nts appear to be in fear for their already paid fees.

The managers of these schools at times seem to intend to use the children to advance their interests on controversies they never enrolled for into the institutions.

In 2015 Kenyan police tear-gassed schoolchildren protesting against a politician's alleged to seize their playground and turn it into a car park in what emerged as a land grabbing attempt.

The pupils from Langata Road Primary School in Nairobi were among protesters pulling down a wall build around their playground after it was acquired by a private developer.

Similarly teachers and parents guided the young ones into the protests that saw at least 10 of them hospitalised with injuries and teargas affecting their eyes.
