Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s move on varsities should be checked

The recent intrusion into universities by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is unlawful and should not be entertained.

Public universities in Kenya are ISO accredited, which means the courses taken are recognised worldwide. The concerns raised by the CS about fake courses being offered in the universities triggers the question why the institutions decided to admit students into various courses if they are not accredited.

Where was the Government to counter-check the courses offered before admitting students? What about the plight of students who have graduated in those courses after spending so many resources?
