Eliud Wabukala is bound to fail as EACC head

Without fear of contradiction, the new chairman of the anti-graft agency, EACC, Eliud Wabukala will miserably fail like his predecessors.

He is being overrated unless the EACC mandate has changed to exorcising corruption from our bloodstreams.

Before we start praising the man of the cloth, we should ask why is it that in a life span of a decade, EACC has been spearheaded by six chairmen and all of them have been dishonourably and prematurely chased out of the office.

I have been keenly following the feuds and turmoils within this institution of great importance and I may confirm that the commission, as currently constituted has deliberately failed to wane corruption within this nation for a very obvious reason; the untouched and ever powerful secretariat.

The secretariat is the one calling the shots but when they fail to deliver, we blindly crucify the commissioners. Rogue investigators and other members of staff at the EACC offices belong to the secretariat.

For the new chair to deliver, he needs the executive, judicial and legislative goodwill and more importantly political patronage.
