Joseph Irungu aka Jowie on Thursday spoke about his time in prison, narrating how walls terrifies him. Speaking during an interview with Jalang’o, he also spoke of how his friends left him and only his family stood by his side during the trying moments.

“Whenever I see walls, I see my two by three cube. There is nothing good about being incarcerated. Jail drains you, it doesn't rehabilitate. It is up to you to change,” he said. Adding: “Walls terrify me a lot. They take me back to being in a cell. I like to sit outside a lot because that is where I can breathe fresh air.”

Jowie emphasized the importance of family saying they accepted him the way he was and stated that he is now focused on taking care of himself and his daughter. “All my friends let me down, only family stayed with me. I do not have to pretend anymore. I don't need friends anymore. Family accepts you as you are,” he said.

Now he says he is saved and has quit drinking. Earlier this week he even released a gospel song titled ‘Nishikilie’. A section on netizens were immensely moved by Jowie’s spiritual growth and went on to ask him to continue seeking God’s guidance through his journey of faith.
