Netflix star's heart-breaking final message before her death aged 22

News
Hana Kimura's death has come as a huge shock to the world of wrestling.

Hana Kimura published a series of troubling social media posts just hours before her death was confirmed on Saturday. The 22-year-old's passing was announced by her organisation Stardom Wrestling, but the cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Kimura, who starred in Netflix's Terrace House reality show, allegedly posted images of self-harm on Twitter on Friday along with the caption "I don't want to be a human anymore. It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you everyone, I love you. Bye."

Her final photo was of her and her cat on an Instagram story with a caption that simply read "goodbye".

Kimura won Stardom's 2019 Fighting Spirit Award and was reportedly being lined up to become one of the faces of the company once the Covid-19 pandemic had passed. But according to reports in Japan Kimura was regularly the target of cyber-bullying, and received hundreds of negative tweets every day.

Following news of her death tributes have been pouring in from thousands of fans as well as high-profile figures within the wrestling community.

American WWE star Ronda Rousey wrote on Instagram: "To Hana Kimura and her family, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. There are no words that could possibly heal this wound."

Tributes have been paid by a number of leading figures in the sport.

Su Yung added: "I will always love and miss you, my friend. You are my little sister."

Meanwhile Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard hit out at bullies, adding: "It absolutely breaks my heart how cruel people can be on social media. It was an amazing honour to know Hana Kimura. She was an amazing girl with the kindest soul and immense passion and work ethic. I’m at a loss of words over this tragedy. Rest in peace my friend."

And former wrestler turned actor Mick Foley said: "Hana Kimura was 22. Please let that sink in...22. She had her whole life in front of her. Online bullying should not be part of life. It damn sure should not be part of death. Hana Kimura was 22."
