Relationships: Ten instances when you should hold your tongue

News

1. Hold your tongue when you are about to speak to your spouse in anger. Lest you say things you will regret.

2. Hold your tongue when you are about to gossip about your spouse to another. Do not stab your spouse in the back.

3. Hold your tongue when you are about to tell your spouse something mean as revenge for hurting you. Tit for tat destroys homes.

4. Hold your tongue when you are about to say something flirtatious to another person besides your spouse. Do not feed an affair.

5. Hold your tongue when you are about to tell your child "You foolish child", "You never do anything right", "You are such a loser". Do not destroy the esteem of the same child who depends on you and needs you to believe in them.

6. Hold your tongue when you are about to accuse your spouse of cheating without proof. Your insecurities shouldn't make you accuse your spouse falsely.

7. Hold your tongue when just like Job's wife, your spouse incites you to curse God. Your spouse should not mess up your relationship with God, God is bigger than your spouse.

8. Hold your tongue when you are about to complain to your spouse yet the last time you appreciated your spouse was a long time ago. Complain less and your relationship will thrive.

9. Hold your tongue when your spouse provokes you and wants to pick a verbal fight with you. Be the bigger person and don't fuel conflict.

10. Hold your tongue when you are about to say something negative about the same marriage you pray for. Don't cancel your prayers with your own tongue.

In my book, WOMANHOOD SERIES, I tell women not to silence their voice in the name of society, marriage or false acceptance. I address the issues women go through and help them heal.

In my other book, MANHOOD SERIES, I challenge men to be their own man, to curve their own path and pursue their vision. I address the man and his relationship to his woman, children, fellow men, himself and his God.
