CS Amina visits pupils injured in Kakamega School stampede

Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture, and Heritage Ambassador Amina Mohamed visited pupils who were injured in the Kakamega Primary School stampede at the Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital where they are recuperating.

In her posts on Twitter, the CS wished the injured quick recovery, while condoling with the families of those lost their loved ones in the tragedy.

“Condoled with families who lost their loved ones at the tragic Kakamega Primary School stampede. May Allah give the families strength during this trying moment,” she stated.

CS Amina later attended the burial of one of the pupils who perished in the tragedy that claimed 14 lives and left tens others injured.

“Attended the burial of the late Leila Kiberenge, who lost her life at the tragic Kakamega Primary School stampede. May Almighty Allah dwell her in Jannatul Firdaus, I pray the love of Allah enfolds the families during this difficult times,” she tweeted.

On Friday, different leaders from the political and education sector led residents of Kakamega in a mass funeral for those who perished at the accident.

Speakers at the event called on the education ministry to put in place stringent measures that will ensure quality assurance and strict adherence to the safety law to avert such tragedies in the future.
