Itumbi to record statement in favour of Moses Kuria after the MP’s arrest

Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi has offered to record a statement in favour of Gatundu South Member of parliament after the arrest of the legislator on Friday 10 January 2020.

Itumbi, through his social media handle, said that some politicians had choreographed the MP’s arrest.

“Moses Kuria walked into Kilimani police Station after a video alleging assault was widely circulated. #HarambeeHousePrefects & some political players choreographed his locking up,” said Itumbi.

Kuria was arrested on Friday morning after a woman identified as Joyce Wanja accused him of assaulting her at the Royal Media Services.

The woman claimed that the MP assaulted her after an interview at the Inooro TV where she asked the legislator to be careful with his words.

Joyce and Kuria were to meet during the interview to discuss issues pertaining the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Wanja, who is also an activist, said that the MP kicked and punched her after she asked Kuria to withdraw his remarks regarding women during a function in Kiambu County meant to help orphans.

“Whatever he said about women was demeaning and the remarks were made in the presence of children, that is why I told him to rethink and retract them, but instead he attacked me,” said Wanja in the viral video.

The Digital Strategist said the complainant wanted money and he will be heading to the Kilimani police station to record a statement.

“I will be in Kilimani later to record a statement in his favour. The complainant wanted money. Moses said he was NOT guilty and would not be blackmailed! Hii ingine ni Cinema,” said Itumbi.
