Betty Kyallo’s sister now takes on Ken Mijungu

Just hours after NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu accused Betty Kyallo of tarnishing Dennis Okari’s name, Mercy Kyallo (Betty’s sister) has also weighed on the matter.

In a lengthy post on her Facebook page, Mercy expressed her disappointment, terming Ken’s sentiments as disrespectful.

She told him that he cannot ‘force a thank you’ and took issue with the fact that he made public their hospital bill.

“Ken, you cannot force a thank you, Maybe that is why the old Swahili Saying “ Tenda Wema nenda Zako” You wrote her a disrespectful message asking her why she hasn't thanked Dennis & you in her post, really?

“Looks like you are still seriously “keeping up,” she wrote.

Adding: “It is distasteful that you would take the responsibility to lay public our hospital bill & allude that you (& team) contributed the heavier chunk, which nothing is further from the truth. Do you even know about after-care that is still ongoing?”

Mercy also took on Okari and according to her, the investigative journalist only showed up for four weeks during the entire period (four months) Ivanna was in hospital.

“Dennis you had not seen your daughter’s face in years. You left us at the ward, before she could even regain her cognitive abilities never to be seen & heard from again.

“If you would like to talk about it, do it on your platform…respectfully,” she told him.

Mercy also accused Ken of calling the police saying he had been threatened.

On the mystery man Betty mentioned in her story, Mercy lauded him for making ‘major decisions’ and for coming through for her sister.

“Ken, the “somali guy” took the baby to hospital, made major decisions, while her mother was working.

“He was there daily, has continued to see her through her recovery in the absence of her biological father, I don't know what you call father, that is a father to me.

“On behalf of my family, keep out of our business & shame on you for using such racist words on another Kenyan in this day & age. It's 2020!” she wrote.

Mercy thanked all those who stood with the family during the difficult period, reserving special praise for medics who worked tirelessly to ensure her niece got better.
