Who appointed Junet as Master of Ceremony? – Kenyans online ask after BBI launch

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, hit the headlines after he performed his duties as Master of Ceremony during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) launch.

The event which took place at the Bomas of Kenya attracted the attention of Kenyans and leaders from different parts of the country and beyond.

Despite the goodwill that clouded the room among leaders of different political views, Kenyans did not take the constant mockery expressed by Junet during the event toward leaders of different opinions.

Kenyans online further blamed the MP for the booing of Elgeyo Marakwet senator KIpchumba Murkomen for the manner in which he introduced the senator.

In his invite, Junet asked the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator not to talk about political wrangles within the ruling Jubilee party which arose emotions.

Netizens described some of his sentiments as a betrayal of the course intended by the Building Bridges Initiative.

Some of the comments include;

Gitamo Obure - I need to understand what was the criteria used to select the MC at the Bomas function, why wasn't the MC selected from the Local MP, Senator or Governor? #JUNET

 Hillary Ngasurah - #JUNET I watched the program later on at night and i must admit @JunetMohamed was awful, the fellow was partisan. Why couldn't they even get a fellow who can speak proper English. That was just awful, jokes taken higher.

Joe Sagana - Protocol is very important but when you allow an MC who has a corrupted mindset to run an event, it’s going to be a disaster!

Douglas kin - #JUNET The choice of the MC was a betrayal to right thinking Kenyans. The whole thing was an anticlimax from the word go. Junet, full of himself, condescending with that asphyxiating sardonic smile he wears when his boss is around. Bure kabisa.

Tijey - He has the acumen in swaying, exiting, entertaining and pulling crowd's but only in campaign's and political rallies but not national event's. Here he was swimming beyond his depth hence the lack of decorum and statesmanship. A primitive sycophant act's well in the village.
