Sadio Mane: I furious with Salah’s refusal to pass the ball during Liverpool’s win over Burnley

Salah infuriated Mane by refusing to play him through on goal

Mohamed Salah confronted Sadio Mane and asked him "Why are you angry?" after he reacted furiously to his team-mate failing to set him up to score at Burnley.

Liverpool were 3-0 up against the Clarets at Turf Moor in August when Salah refused to square the ball to his unmarked team-mate and instead went for goal.

The Egyptian was quickly closed down and failed to hit the back of the net, and Mane was incensed when coming off as a substitute just moments later.

Opening up on the changing room chat that followed, Mane told Canal Plus: "He said to me 'Sadio, why are you angry?' I told him 'You needed to give me the ball, Mo', to which he replied 'I didn't see you. You know I've got nothing against you'.

"I know that, but his reaction was a bit strange to me.

He added: "We talk on the phone sometimes, we text each other and we don't have a problem.

"So we talked, and everything was like before.

"We talked between ourselves, and then the manager called me into his office and we spoke. I told him it was already sorted and he was pleasantly surprised."

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp played down the spat after the match, and according to Mane the atmosphere was light.

He added: "Everyone was taking the p*** out of us.

"[Georginio] Wijnaldum, who likes to tease people, waited until everyone was there, came up to me and asked out loud 'Mo Salah, why did Mane want to hit you?' and the whole team started laughing."
