The Council of Governors (CoG) was faced with criticism from Kenyans on Twitter after retweeting an ‘indecent’ post on August 5 Monday.
The tweet which was posted by a Twitter user identified as Taruri Gatere contained vulgar language relating to a sexual conversation.
The retweet went viral with most Kenyans questioning if the CoG Twitter account had been hacked.

Through their Twitter handle, the Council of Governors wrote and apology insinuating that they had temporarily lost control of their account but have since gained it back.
"We sincerely apologise for the inappropriate retweet through our Twitter handle. We have regained control of our handle and have put proper measures to ensure that this does not occur again," read the apology by CoG.
Both tweets have however been deleted from the Council of Governors Twitter account.
