11 women arrested in Nyali shooting porn

11 women were on Thursday night arrested in Nyali, Mombasa, while shooting pornographic movies.

A man and a woman who are believed to have been in charge of the activity were also arrested and will aid police in investigations.

Mombasa Police Commander Johnstone Ipara revealed that sex toys and laptops were also recovered from the house.

“We also seized 15 laptops which we believe were being used in their indecent activities,” he said.

This comes just two months after 12 Nepalese women illegally working at a club were arrested in the same area.

The Nepalese women were entertaining revelers at the club and during the operation, club owner Asif Jetha said the women had temporary passes.

A search was conducted at the club and money, mobile phones and documents were recovered.

According to a 2018 Global Report on Trafficking in Persons by the United Nations, sexual exploitation and forced labour were among the leading causes of human trafficking.

Trafficking for sexual exploitation accounted for 50 percent of people trafficked, while forced labour was at 49 percent, with one percent trafficked for other unspecified purposes.

The majority of the victims are women and children. The report further indicates that the overall number of reported trafficking victims had increased.
