There could be more than meets the eye after Tanzania’s Diamond and Nigeria’s Yemi Alade were a no show at the Morgan Heritage led Tomorrow's Leaders Concert held at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

The event had been marred by many logistic issues that saw two press conferences and a pre-party show get cancelled.

The Saturday daytime show was a flop and when the night event came, the rainy weather spelt doom and so did the artistes who had been glued to their rooms for more than 12 hours since their call performance time.

Only a handful of fans were at the Kasarani venue at 9pm that night and far into the midnight hour.

The VIP and VVIP reserves were a disaster, with tents still being erected, the special guests shielding themselves in the official bar tent.

About 3,800 people, among them Permanent Secretaries, MPs and UN officials had each paid up to Sh12,000 for the VVIP ticket.

At about 11pm, Twitter was more than busy, as Kenyans criticised the organisers. The worse was for those on the ground in the rain, as the wait had to prolong till 2am when the first big act came on stage.

To add to the drama of the night, Diamond, who had not updated anything about the show on his Instagram - after arriving in Nairobi on Friday - confirmed that he would not perform as he was "unwell".

Yemi Alade also pulled out under unclear circumstances.

The sound and general stage set up was amazing, the Mo Sound team had outdone itself. Led by Chameleone and Stoneboy, the performances were world-class.

However, fans had to wait even longer for the main act, Morgan Heritage, who hit the stage at 5am. That was Sunday morning! Fans were still on their way home by day break!
