A 38-year-old mother from Navokholo sub-county is nursing injuries sustained after her son hurled a burning stove at her following a domestic tiff.
The victim, Lydia Thomas, who is recuperating at Ingotse Mission Hospital revealed that this happened after a scuffle ensued in the son’s house.
Mrs. Thomas narrated how the suspect, on Tuesday, came in at night with another woman despite having a wife whom he ordered to leave them space with the concubine.
And when she intervened, the hostile son turned to her and hurled a burning stove at her which burst into flames on her body.
She further said they were also fighting, so when she asked him to stop is when he turned to her and did the bizarre.
"I heard him order the wife to leave the house. The wife on the other hand was pleading with him to understand that there was nowhere else she could spend her night what he couldn’t understand,” she said.
According to the hospital report, Mrs. Thomas was brought in with 38% burns inflicted on her body.
Dr. Josephart Afune of Ingotse Mission Hospital said to resuscitate her, they had to administer quick first aid but said she is yet to fully recover.
“She was brought in a semi-conscious state. She was also in severe pains. I managed to administer fluids and other basics what helped improve her condition,” he said.
The suspect is yet to be arrested as he is reported to have immediately disappeared into hiding.
