The Sh131m perfume that lasts on fabric for a month

A novelist once said that the appeal of perfume is that it is at once ephemeral and empowering.

It creates a shimmering invisible armor that lingers in a room long after its wearer has gone and infuses our imagination with subtle power, hinting at a hidden identity.

Well, in Dubai, the world’s most expensive unisex perfume was released by the Spirit of Dubai Parfums and will cost you a cool Sh131 million.

Dubbed SHUMUKH - deserving the highest - the perfume sits in a bottle adorned with 3,571 diamonds and other pieces of gold, silver, pearls, and topaz.

Also, it can last on the skin for up to 12hours while on fabric it is believed to last for up to a month.

It sits in a 1.97-meter-tall bottle and is currently on display at The Dubai Mall until the end of the month.

The bottle also comes with gold or silver remote controls to operate the automated perfume spray and to rotate or adjust the height of the pedestal.

According to the Spirit of Parfum, the perfume is comprised of natural ingredients, “culminating in a scent with notes of amber, sandalwood, musk, rare pure Indian Agarwood, pure Turkish rose, patchouli Ylang-Ylang, and frankincense that are estimated to last on the skin for more than 12 hours.”

Asghar Adam Ali (Al Attar), chairman and master perfumer at Nabeel Perfumes Group of Companies, along with artisans from Switzerland, Italy, and France, spent three years and 494 trials to formulate the perfume, according to the Spirit of Dubai.
