BRUTAL: Man accused of killing girlfriend, pouring acid on her head, removing her tongue

A man in Malinya, Ikolomani constituency, Kakamega County, is being held by police on suspicion of brutally killing his lover.

32-year-old Obed Mitalo is accused of killing his girlfriend Caroline Anota last week after a domestic quarrel.

Further, he is said to have poured acid on the deceased and chopped off some of her body parts.

According to Anota’s mother Mary Makuto, her daughter’s body was badly mutilated and even her eyes were missing.

“My daughter had been missing for two days but I was told that she was with her lover. I did not have a problem with that.

“However, last week when I got home from a wake, I found so many people near my compound and they asked me to accompany them. We boarded a motorbike and it is then when they told me my daughter had been killed,” she narrated.

Makuto stated that upon seeing her body she could hardly recognize her as her head was extensively damaged.

“She did not have eyes… I could not see her ears, her tongue…” she added.

It is said that Anota’s killer attempted to dispose of her body but was caught in the act.

Irate villagers took matters into their own hands and burnt down the suspect’s house as they lamented the horrific attack.
