Former TV anchor reveals how being fired by Citizen opened her eyes

Challenges are like an elevator, they either take us up or pull us down. The best part about it is that we have the liberty to choose the button we desire.

Former high flying Citizen TV anchor Terryanne Chebet is an example of how to get positives from any negative situation if her recent interview with Malkia Africa Production is anything to go by.

Her presentation of business news was admired by many and her eloquence was a plus.

Chebet, however, lost her job in unclear circumstances and she revealed that the setback gave her some valuable lessons.

“The dip that I had when I lost my job could have been a moment of despair. You know like so what next? I was in my prime.

“I had done a good job, it happened and it had to happen. When I look back I’m like it was necessary because there were some lessons that I needed to learn and if that didn’t happen I wouldn’t be where I am today.

She added that it was a difficult period but it was necessary.

“In retrospect, it was necessary even though I was in so much pain,” said Chebet who is now CEO of Fanaka Television.

Many questions still surround her unexpected dismissal but she divulged that she is happier now and intends to push herself to the limits to be the best.
