With the English transfer window closed, it’s impossible for teams in the Premier League to sign players from outside England.

It is, however, possible for players to leave teams in the Premier League for other teams i.e. The Spanish transfer window does not close until August 31st.

Manchester United managed to acquire the services of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from Porto in the summer transfer window, leaving Jose Mourinho frustrated at the fact that the club couldn’t make more signings for ‘unknown reasons’.

Mourinho lamented the absence of players to work with during the preseason and the lack of acquisition of transfer targets, saying it would be a “difficult season” for the Red Devils due to minor spending compared to rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool.

One thing fans asked for during pre-season was the elimination of ‘deadwood’ from the squad, something that clearly failed to happen.

However, one of the team’s best defenders could be headed out.

According to the Mirror, Man United are said to be holding talks with Turkish side Fenerbahce over a deal for Argentinian Marcos Rojo.

Fanatik, a Turkish newspaper, suggests Fenerbahce hope to land a loan deal before the close of transfer business.

The 28-year-old was signed by Loius Van Gaal after the 2014 World Cup but has failed to impress ever since. Under Mourinho last season, he only made 12 appearances.
